Kensington Collective

It starts with
the thread.

Fully custom clothing for men and women. The cut is the same at every price we quote. What changes is the cloth, and the cloth is where we begin.

the making

A suit is a set of decisions.

Seven panels of cloth and a list of your measurements. Ready to wear averages them across a thousand strangers. We make every one of them with you.

the making

Pick your thread.

The palette is yours before anything is cut: cloth, lining, buttons, down to the thread that binds the seam. No two leave the workroom alike.

the making

Everything measured.

Twenty eight measurements, shoulder to cuff. Your pattern is drawn once and kept for life.

the cloth

Same cut. Same hands.

The fit and the finish are identical at every level. What changes is the cloth, and we would rather show you what it costs than make you ask.

The mill

Unbranded, woven in Asia, and genuinely good. No name on the selvedge, which is most of why it costs what it costs. Where a first suit should start.

Zegna

An Italian mill you already know. The difference is in the drape rather than the fit, and you can feel it before you can name it.

Loro Piana

The finest cloth we source, cut to the same pattern by the same hands. The saving is not the suit. It is who you buy the cloth through.

Doug met him at a pop up in Kansas City, when he played for the Chiefs. Then came the trade to the Patriots. The address changed. The tailor did not.

Start with a conversation.

Tell us what you want made. A first fitting takes about ninety minutes, in Boston or wherever we are that month, and there is no charge to be measured.

Or join the cloth letter. Once a month, what is being worn and what has just landed in the books. No selling.
